Be AWARE. Be educated and informed. Know what bullying is and what bullying is not. Be able to recognize “bullying” when you see it. Learn strategies to remove someone who is being bullied from the scene. Know what to say to safely deflate a bullying incident.
Understand that you can help! Know what to do if you see bullying taking place in your school or community. Care enough to support with your words of encouragement, time, and resources to help spread the anti-bullying movement.
SHARE information, protection, and encouragement. Teach others to accept the differences in others. Adults should teach youth how to respond properly to bullying, whether they be the victim or the bystander. Schools can adopt a no-nonsense policy and offer an open discussion on bullying throughout the entire school year.
